SA’s Top Vehicle Manufacturers to be announced in October

Press Release on behalf of SAVRALA

SA’S TOP VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS TO BE ANNOUNCED IN OCTOBER

JOHANNESBURG, 3 OCTOBER 2022 – South Africa’s top vehicle manufacturers as voted for by the country’s rental and leasing companies will be announced on 20 October during the annual Manufacturer of the Year Awards (MOTY), hosted by the Southern African Rental and Leasing Association (SAVRALA).

Now in its 27th year, MOTY aggregates the ratings of 21 leasing and 17 rental companies which use a variety of criteria to evaluate the ability of vehicle manufacturers to provide their rental and leasing customers with superior quality service and support.

Manufacturers compete for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in both the Rental and Leasing channels. An Overall award using the combined Rental and Leasing scores for those manufacturers competing in both spheres is also up for grabs.

Individuals are recognised for their commitment to service excellence by being nominated as the best Account Representatives and best Technical Representative, again, these awards are made in both the Rental and Leasing channels.

Last year saw Isuzu walk away with Gold in the categories of overall, rental and leasing, with Volkswagen coming in second and Toyota in bronze.

Each rental and leasing member of SAVRALA establishes a panel within their organisation who deal directly with the various manufacturers. “They complete a comprehensive survey twice a year evaluating the support of manufacturers,” explains Sandile Ntseoane, SAVRALA GM.

This approach ensures objective and unbiased results from those who deal directly with the manufacturers on multiple levels and across such criteria as Manufacturer Contact, Communication, Technical Assistance, Parts Availability, Pricing Structures, Service Experience, Theft Prevention, Inclusion of new technologies and B-BBEE compliance.

“The vehicle rental and leasing sector is one of the largest buyers of vehicles in South Africa and the MOTY awards recognises the important partnership that exists between it and the vehicle manufacturing sector. We look forward to acknowledging the great efforts of our manufacturer partners at our gala awards ceremony later in the month,” Ntseoane concludes.
