Anele and the Club on 947 to Broadcast from International Waters with Flight Centre and Norwegian Cruise Line

JOHANNESBURG, 11 October 2023 – Flight Centre South Africa, the country’s leading travel retailer, is partnering with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and 947 to take South African radio to the high seas. The team from 947’s Anele and the Club on 947 will broadcast live from NCL’s Norwegian Prima every weekday between 06h00 – 09h00 CAT from 16 to 20 October 2023.

Departing from Barcelona, Spain and sailing to several bucket list European ports, this exciting collaboration represents a fresh spin on combining entertainment and travel.

“We’re honoured to partner with NCL and 947 to share the award-winning Norwegian Prima with the station’s widespread audience. From expansive culinary offerings to the elevated experiences available to guests of all ages, we know Anele and the Club are in for a treat,” shares Antoinette Turner, General Manager at Flight Centre South Africa.

Norwegian Prima, the first ship in NCL’s groundbreaking Prima Class, boasts well-appointed, spacious accommodations, world-class entertainment, and exceptional dining options, including Indulge Food Hall, an upscale food market featuring 11 unique eateries. As the 947 team navigates European ports like Valencia, Ibiza, and Naples, they’ll also experience cruise travel onboard NCL’s floating resort at sea.

“We’re delighted Anele and the Club will be boarding Norwegian Prima to experience a holiday on the high seas with NCL! The daily broadcasts will showcase what our guests love most about NCL – mouthwatering cuisine, the exhilarating three-story racetrack, our luxurious spa, many ‘off the beaten track’ shore excursions, and minimal sea days. I look forward to tuning in every morning and hearing all about the 947 team’s cruise adventures,” says Kevin Bubolz, NCL’s Vice President & Managing Director Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA)

With Flight Centre South Africa taking care of travel arrangements and NCL hosting the teamonboard the luxurious Norwegian Prima, this trip promises to take 947’s audience on the adventure of a lifetime.

“Collaborating with partners to achieve mutually beneficial ROI is a demonstration of the Primedia stable of brands exceeding expectations while delivering best-of-breed content,” said Zaheera Mahomed, 947 Commercial Manager.
