Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa Receives Five-Star Grading

SOMERSET WEST, 30 NOVEMBER 2022: The Cape Winelands has a new, freshly minted five-star establishment, with the Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa in Somerset West officially receiving its five-star status from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

This comes after nine years of ongoing investment, and hot on the heels of a year’s worth of renovations and refurbishment. For General Manager Debbie-Lee Cockrell, it’s an achievement worth celebrating.

“Over the past nine years, and certainly this year, our entire team has been focussed on the hotel’s refurbishment, improving our amenities, and fine tuning our guest experience and level of service,” says Debbie-Lee. “We are incredibly proud of this collective achievement, and look forward to welcoming guests to our new-look, five-star hotel in the Heart of the Helderberg.”

The hotel’s three restaurants (the Oak Terrace, Magnolia Social Dining Lounge, and Stefan’s) underwent stunning transformations over the past few years, while 2022 has seen a beautiful revamp of the guest rooms – and most recently, the meeting venues.

Erinvale’s 56 spacious rooms and suites are all about charm, comfort and connectivity. All boast ART TVs, fast Wi-Fi, luxurious TheraVine bath and shower amenities, king-size beds, and the finest quality fittings and fabrics. This includes 600 thread count, sateen-weave Sanders-Kauffman bedding for a sleep experience like no other.

In addition, Erinvale has created two more interleading rooms, ideal for families holidaying with children.

“Our goal from the beginning was to create a gorgeous home-away-from-home in the Winelands,” says Debbie-Lee. “This means warm, welcoming hospitality, fantastic food and a relaxed and peaceful stay.”

With its indigenous gardens, majestic oaks and mountain backdrop, Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa is perfectly positioned for local and international guests alike.

“We’re only 35 km from Cape Town International Airport, a 45-minute drive from the Cape Town city centre, and yet steps away from some of the Cape’s oldest and most impressive wine farms,” says Debbie-Lee. “Guests can hit Lourensford’s mountain bike trails, enjoy a day of fine food and wine in the Helderberg, or head off on a day trip to explore some of the Western Cape’s coastal villages.”

This prime location also lends itself to meetings and events, with Erinvale’s ultra-modern boardroom venue upgrades now a stand-out feature of the estate.

“We have invested in high-spec audio visual equipment to allow for seamless business engagement for both in-person and hybrid meetings. The meeting spaces also boast an uninterrupted power supply to avoid any loadshedding-related interruptions,” says Debbie-Lee.

With their five-star rating secured, the Erinvale team will continue to build on their offering. This includes a revamp of the property’s spa in 2023 – and a focus on growing, developing and enhancing their sustainable business practices.

“There are still more exciting things to come,” says Debbie-Lee. “Anyone looking for a destination where their personal peace and enjoyment are the only things that matter should book a stay at Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa.”
