Southern African travel set to boom in ‘Africa’s Eden’ as entry becomes easier
Zimbabwe has joined a growing list of African countries, including Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Zambia, in dropping the PCR test requirement for inbound vaccinated travellers. Travel experts are hopeful that easier access to SADC countries will encourage the recovery of travel and tourism in Southern Africa.
Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting announced on Twitter on Tuesday 29 March, that fully vaccinated travellers to the country could present a valid vaccination certificate upon entry instead of a negative PCR test.
“It is fantastic news that Zimbabwe has made it easier for visitors to access one of Africa’s last untouched wilderness areas,” says Kate Powell, General Manager of Marketing, Sales and Reservations for the Zambezi Queen Collection, which offers unique river safaris on the Chobe River.
